A large prayer vigil is taking place at the Aurora Municipal Center tonight at 6 p.m. The following link has information on the event:

The Westboro Baptist Church, of God Hates Fags fame, is planning a protest in an attempt to spew forth their message of hate. Not really surprising, but absolutely horrific regardless.
There are many groups of people organizing "walls against Westboro" types of events to shield those gathering to remember from these hate mongers. I've received invites from two of those groups via Facebook and can link you if needed. But I don't think that's necessary.
If you're of the mind that I am, that those coming to this place to memorialize their loved ones should be shielded from this unjustified hate, just show up. I'm pretty sure the rest of the good and sane people in the vicinity can get you to where you need to go to help.
Again, the event itself starts at 6. Showing up early is probably a good idea so you can be in place well ahead of time. Bring water and some to share if you're able as it's really fucking hot. Sunscreen and any kind of shade is a smart idea, too. Don't start shit with anyone because that totally defeats the purpose of this whole thing and just gives the WBC it's ammunition for more money through litigation.
